Community Events : 4th Annual Holiday Food Drive Sponsored by the Hepatitis B Foundation and PA Biotechnology Center
Posted by Gina Furia Rubel on 12/28/2010 16:05:18 (21 reads)

The Hepatitis B Foundation and the PA Biotechnology Center, in the spirit of giving, collected over 1,185 lbs. of non-perishable food items and dry goods, as well as $628 for the Bucks County Housing Group food pantry.

This is the fourth consecutive year that the professional staff, scientists, and entrepreneur companies who work at the Center participated in this community outreach effort. The 18-day holiday food drive ended December 10, 2010 and was organized as a friendly team competition of three celestial groups. This year’s winners were: Ursa Major first place; Orion placed second; with Cassiopeia coming in third.

About the Hepatitis B Foundation: The Hepatitis B Foundation, celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2011 as the global authority dedicated to eradicating hepatitis B, is the only national nonprofit organization solely dedicated to finding a cure and improving the quality of life for those affected with hepatitis B worldwide through research, education and patient advocacy. It is headquartered in the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center, which it created to accelerate its research mission. To learn more, visit www.hepb.org or call (215) 489-4900.
