Fans Visited the Montgomery Mall to See Brooke Hogan Perform During Simon DTour!

North Wales, PA (August 2007) – More than 500 area music enthusiasts flocked to the Montgomery Mall on Friday, July 27 to see Brooke Hogan, rising pop star and daughter of pro-wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, headline at a Simon DTour Live! event.

Simon DTour Live! presented by ABC Family, is a free, six-hour teen event providing teens firsthand access to today’s rising pop stars and an opportunity to interact with some of today’s hottest consumer and retail brand. The event at Montgomery Mall began at 3pm in the Mall’s Elevator Court and wrapped up at 9pm.

Brooke Hogan performed for the Montgomery Mall crowd around the 7 o’clock hour and then proceeded to sign autographs and meet fans throughout the evening.

Simon DTour Live! participants also experienced some of the latest offerings from the following sponsors:

ABC Family offered teens the chance to be creative and design their own T-shirts. DTour participants picked out different designs, such as fun sayings from shows, logos, and much more. Additionally, teens got a sneak peek at the upcoming ABC Family fall line-up.

My Coke Rewards created a cyber lounge, where teens registered on mycokerewards.com and learned more about the benefits of the program while earning bonus points and other prizes.

Sprint showcased the latest in cell phone technology and accessories, in conjunction with their partners – Body Glove, LG, Samsung, Boost Mobile, LG Fusic II and Bluetooth. DTour participants were able to join in on a text messaging contest to find the fastest and most accurate “texter,” who were then awarded with prizes.

Company 81 offered teens a preview of the newest apparel, as well as a special premium that could be redeemed at participating retailer locations. Company 81 also hosted a model contest, with participants chosen from the DTour audience rewarding the winning models with $100 Simon Giftcards.

Rising Stars Plain White T’s to Perform at Oxford Valley Mall

LANGHORNE, PA (JULY 2007) – The Plain White T’s, best known for their hit song “Hey There Delilah,” will be the headlining at Simon DTour Live! presented by ABC Family, a free six-hour teen event on Saturday, July 28 at Oxford Valley Mall.

Simon DTour Live! gives teens firsthand access to today’s rising pop stars and an opportunity to interact with some of today’s hottest consumer and retail brands. The event at Oxford Valley Mall will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the Sears Court, and is scheduled to conclude at 9:00 p.m., according to organizers.

The music industry took notice of the Plain White T’s after selling thousands of copies of their self-released 2002 debut, Stop. The group was then picked up by Fearless Records, home to Sugarcult, At The Drive-In and The Aquabats, who re-issued the album along with 2005\'s All That We Needed. But it was their heartfelt, acoustic-tinged “Hey There Delilah” that cemented their status as potential hit-makers. \"We knew…Delilah was going to be something people would like,” said frontman Tom Higgenson, “and it\'s turned out to be our biggest song yet.\"

Deep Run East Seeks Runners and Donations for Strides for Mission 5k Race

PERKASIE, PA (July 2007) – Deep Run Mennonite Church East of Perkasie, Pa., invites the local community to participate in its first annual Strides for Mission 5k Race and Family Mission Walk on Saturday, September 8. The race will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the walk at 9:45 a.m. at the Deep Run Mennonite East Church located at 350 Kellers Church Road. Immediately following the race and walk, the Church will be hosting its annual Community Fest 2007 featuring free food and games for community members of all ages to enjoy.

All proceeds from the Strides for Mission 5k will directly support the MAMA Project, Inc. MAMA Project is a ministry connecting North Americans and Hondurans to work on many of the problems that cause suffering in Honduras. Formed in 1987 by Mennonite women, MAMA has a special focus on families who are living in severe poverty. Deep Run East has worked in partnership with, supporting this international non-profit organization for many years. Each year, the Church sends multiple mission teams, consisting of church members and community friends, to Honduras. During the trips, the groups dispense medication, build houses and distribute clothing to the impoverished families connected with the MAMA Project outreach.

Deep Run East will also hold a MAMA Resources Drive the day of the race. The Church encourages local residents to donate the following items to support MAMA Project outreach efforts:
•Children and adult vitamins
•Acetaminophen and Ibuprofen
•Children’s shoes in new or very good condition
•Baby Kits including 4 cloth diapers, 2 shirts, 2 washcloths, 2 gowns or sleepers, 2 diaper pins, 1 sweater or sweatshirt, 2 receiving blankets

PHILADELPHIA (July 2007) – GlaxoSmithKline will honor up to ten community nonprofit organizations that provide “access to healthcare” in the Greater Philadelphia area at the 11th Annual GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards. Applications for outstanding achievement and excellence in providing healthcare access will be accepted through 4 p.m., EST on August 28, 2007. Winning organizations will receive $40,000 each in unrestricted award funding.

The GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards honor nonprofit organizations that have a significant impact on their communities and are capable, proactive and effective in their work. GlaxoSmithKline’s IMPACT Awards stand for and support Innovation, Management, Partnership, Achievement, Community focus and Targeting needs within community-based healthcare organizations. Award-winning organizations continue to provide quality, accessible healthcare to their constituent communities, despite their financial and resource limitations. Winners in previous years include organizations that provide healthcare advocacy, medical, dental and vision care for the underserved.

To qualify for a GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT award, applicants must provide access to community healthcare services (primary mission) in the Pennsylvania counties of Berks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Montgomery and Philadelphia; have a total annual operating budget of less than $2.5 million; and have been in existence as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization for at least five years.
